Marty Dyck - Advisor/Wellness Coach
Marty has been involved with hockey since he was child. From being a player all the way to holding rolls as general manager in junior hockey, as a billet family and assistant coach.
Growing up in Swan River, Manitoba the heart of the prairies of Canada, Marty was born into the game of hockey. On outdoor rinks and the river behind his home, Marty developed a love for the game. Very involved in sports all through high school and college he was on winning teams and captained his football and baseball teams to provincial titles. Dabbling in the Junior hockey system he still enjoys watching his hometown team, the Swan Valley Stampeders as well as the team he dreamt of playing for, the Brandon Wheat Kings. Marty brings well over a two decades of working with this age group as a juvenile probation officer as well as a high school counselor before starting his own business which allowed him the time to pursue his love of hockey. Marty brings a lot of relational value to the Breakout Hockey Advisory team to not only help with hockey related things but skills that will help in the future. Along with billeting players for 5 years, he spent 3 seasons as coach of the Hudson Havoc Junior A hockey team helping lead them to 3 National Tournament appearances. He has been fortunate enough to be mentored by some of hockey’s great coaches and players, including decorated NHL player and NCAA coach Dean Talafous. Marty holds certificates in Wellness Counseling and Emotional Psychology from Cornell University as well as Hockey Scouting and Management and Sports Advisory and Agents from Sports Management Worldwide where he was mentored by Mike Oke, GM of the OHL’s Peterborough Pete’s as well as NHL GM and Head Coach Doug MacLean and current NHLPA certified agent Rick Curran from Orr Hockey Group.
Marty lives in Stillwater, MN with his family, raising his 2 boys and coaching youth hockey.
Scott Sturgeon - Advisor/ Consultant
Scott grew up in the small town of Winchester, WI. A multi- sport athlete all growing up he developed a love for hockey. After high school, Scott answered the call to serve his country for the United States Navy.
Once he returned home, he started to coach youth hockey and led his team to their first state championship. The success followed while coaching AAA and junior hockey levels. During the 2017-18 season, Scott led the Ironwood Fighting Yoopers (USPHL) to a winning record and the programs first playoff appearance. From 2020-2023 as the Director of Scouting for the Hudson Havoc (USPHL), Scott was an instrumental part to the teams success in finding top tier players to build a team that went to 2 National Tournaments and ranked #2 in the country. Scott is a wealth of knowledge for the game. He has had the opportunity to help on NCAA benches and has been trusted with countless hockey decisions to teams all over the country.
In addition to Scott recruiting players, he also plays a role with the advancement of players. Scott’s heart is in development and he has helped numerous players reach their goals on the ice and off the ice with numerous NCAA Commitments.
Scott now works remotely from Park Falls, WI raising his three kids and coaching them in the youth programs.
Jeff Baidoo - Advisor/Consultant
I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba before making the State of Hockey his permanent home. I went to Waseca High School and now reside in Maplewood, MN. I’m an active member of USA Hockey's Advisement Team and Minnesota Hockey’s Equity Advisor which focuses on enhancing the social impact of the game of hockey.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources with an emphasis and supporting program in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I later earned certificates from Sports Management Worldwide in every Hockey course and became Adjunct Faculty to facilitate and mentor in 2021.
In April, 2022 – after 8 years in the front office with the Minnesota Wild, I accepted a position as Director of Partnership of Meet Minneapolis, serving as a liaison to local businesses and telling the exciting and all-encompassing story of Minneapolis, highlighting the assets that make it a special place to live, work and visit.
Kevin Clark - Player & Coach Development
Kevin oversees research and coach development at Cascade Hockey, where he imparts knowledge on the evolving intricacies of the sport to both players and coaches. In addition, Kevin provides consultation services to numerous top-tier amateur and professional athletes in Colorado, focusing on enhancing their individual skills and performance.
Kevin grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he played all of his minor hockey. Drafted in the third round of the USHL futures draft in 2004 by the Omaha Lancers he elected to stay at home to play his junior hockey. He played in the MJHL for the Winnipeg South Blues winning the league championship in 2006. Kevin then earned a NCAA Div 1. full-ride scholarship to the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing. Turning pro in 2010, He played parts of four years under the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets organizations before heading overseas in 2013. Since then, he has played 11 seasons in various countries: Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Russia. Kevin has represented Team Canada at five different occasions on the international stage.
Currently, he is playing in his 15th professional season in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Cal Wild - Advisor/ Consultant
Cal is known for his leadership, love of being at the rink, and as a penalty killing specialist. He’s established many great relationships and connections through his career as a player and is excited to embark on a new journey helping the next generation of young athletes.
A Winnipeg native, Cal played both junior and university hockey locally in Manitoba. After winning the MJHL Championship with the Winnipeg South Blues in 2006, he went on to play four seasons for the University of Manitoba Bisons. Cal captained the team competing for the USports (formerly CIS) National Championship in 2010 and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the Asper School of Business.
Following his university career, Cal played six professional seasons split between the Texas/Fort Worth Brahmas of the former Central Hockey League (CHL) and Brampton Beast of the ECHL. During the 2013-14 season, Cal was the recipient of the CHL Man of the Year award, presented annually to the player who best exemplifies strong leadership qualities, while making significant humanitarian contributions to his community. The following year, he was awarded the ECHL Community Service Award' for his efforts for community and charitable causes.
Cal currently lives in Brampton, ON, with his wife and two children. He continues to be involved as an on-ice development coach with the Brampton Canadettes Girls Hockey Association.
